Description

Our history

Fratelli Pavia farm was born from a long family tradition in grape growing: at the end of the nineteenth century our grandfather Michele and his brothers cultivated the vineyards in Agliano, the heart of Monferrato, the area of production of the best piedmont red wines , and particularly  Barbera. Many clients from Piedmont and Lombardy came to Cascina Pavia to buy their barrels of wine. With Carlo and Giovanni, Michele’s sons, the farm increased his production possibilities, by buying new vineyards and by building a new cellar.

Pavia brothers insisted on quality , they started bottling and refining their wines, they obtained numerous prizes in wine competitions and they were appreciated by both Italian and foreign clients. Now we are at the third generation: the sons Cesare and Michele are part of the farm having the same passion for working of their father, they follow the whole producing cycle, from the vineyard to the cellar, looking for the  highest quality levels and going on with the family tradition of experience and capability in producing wine

Our vineyards

Fratelli Pavia farm is formed by 20 hectares of land , 15 of which are vineyards, divided into various types of grapes. To obtain a great wine you need excellent grapes and a good vinification. For this reason, Pavia brothers personally grow their vineyards, every works, from the winter pruning to the harvest are done by hands for obtaining a reduced yield of product  but of a great quality.

Respecting the nature, they don’t use any chemical fertilizer. Using the guided anti parasite defence you have not to use systemic products , and it reduces the spraying treatments which are done just with products based on copper

Our cellar

Entering in our cellar you are in a particular atmosphere , there is the typical sensation of the passion of producing wine. Next to the most advanced machineries , as the stainless steel tanks for the controlled fermentation, the press for the soft crushing, and the modern bottling machines which guarantee the maximum sanitary and cure of the final product, there are the big oak wood barrels for the refinement, and the barriques used for the refinement of the prestigious San Bernardino. Here our clients are sure to find a familiar place where they can taste our products
