The existing holding dalgi 60 years of my parents was reconstituted in 1998 by then I am in charge of the land of my father, which were almost exclusively devoted to arable and part to Olivia. In these ten years thanks to the help of my parents as well as "supporters" have got to have a vineyard of about 8 hectares and 7 hectares of olive trees. The activity of the winery began in 2001.
The vineyard planted in 1998 with area of 5 hectares with the remainder mostly Sagrantino Sangiovese grapes (several clones), Merlot, Trebbiano Toscano and Grechetto. The sixth plant is 2.80 mx 1.00 m, with breeding spurred cordon.
In 2006, after purchasing an old family property, was implanted with a new vineyard area of about 3 hectares. In this terrain you choose to implant only Sangiovese grapes (several clones), Merlot (several clones) and Chardonnay. As for the sixth time this plant, we adopted the 2.50 x 0.90 m to have a higher density per hectare and lower load for single screw to get a better product to take to the cellar. Breeding is also spurred cordon but twice to assess the potential organoleptic and texture of the wine. The vineyards are all located in the Municipality of Montefalco for a total area of approximately 8 hectares.
However, to date, the grapes produced, the prevalence is sold to another winery, the rest is made into its own by careful selection in the vineyards and cellars of the best bunches. Every year we try to make wine a larger amount up to now about 350 hectoliters.
Started with about 1,000 bottles, by type, in the year 2001 to date are around a production last harvest of about 50,000 bottles. In 2010 we want to reach a quantity of bottled product of about 80,000 bottles.
The company also owns olive groves for the production of extra virgin olive oil with a designation of origin, with about 1200 plants of 7 acres of surface, in various parts of the City of Giano dell 'Umbria.
The entire company then follows the protocol of good agricultural practice imposed by environmental measures, which entails the reduction of pesticides fertilizers etc. .. respect for the environment and end products.
