The Venneri family have been cultivating their estate in the Salento region of Southern Puglia for many generations, with a passion for the soil,
respect for nature and the enviroment, and producing a range of very innovative, commercial and artisan farmhouse prepared speciality foods,
part of which are organic.
'Terra del Sud' of Venneri Rocco grows in Apulia, and more precisely in the Salentine peninsula, vineyards with the organic method of growth under CEE register n. 2092/91 certified by 'Bioagricert’
The grapes are transformed into 'Wine made from grapes grown in organic farming' in our own cellar 'in sight' destined only for the working of certified grapes from organic farming.

Thanks to the low rainfall and the plenty sunshine, the Apulia and particularly the Salentine peninsula is close to the perfect growth conditions of the grapes in organic farming.
The Mediterranean climate, and the fact that Salento is a narrow and windy peninsula, allows the winemakers who work in organic, to keep the chemical interventions to a minimum.
Thanks to these natural conditions of growth of the grapes, in Salento it can make an organic viticulture with excellent results.
We grow our vineyards in according to the UE 2092/91 rules. This kind of cultivation allows the organic balance of the grapes' ecosystem that produces sound grapes with high but balanced grades of sugars, acids and polyphenols.
The harvest is made by hand in little baskets of 15 kg. Between the cutting of the bunch and the crushing spend about 45 minutes.
The vinification is made according to the disciplinary of the inspection of Bioagricert.
The wine produced is suitable to the Vegetarian and Vegan diet.
We don't use any additives except for minimum quantity of sulphur dioxide.
