Description
These small tomatoes still grown today in the foothills of Mount Vesuvius have for centuries been called "Piennolo" which in Neaplitan dialect means "hanging". Visitors to the area can see large clusters of these tomatoes hanging outside peoples homes well into late winter. In fact, their high sugar content allows them to be kept unrefrigerated for a long time without decaying. We bring them to you canned with their tomato juice. Use this sweet treat with pasta, meat, or vegetables. Organically grown in the Mount Vesuvius area of Campania.
