FiberPasta is a durum wheat pasta that received the important acknowledgement by the Italian Ministry of Health as being "suitable for people suffering from diabetes" (Ministerial Decree nr. 600 12/8114 dated 10/12/2001).
FiberPasta uses a unique transformation process which converts 98% durum wheat semolina and 2% inulin (soluble vegetable fibre), into a final product that has more than twice the amount of dietary fibre than whole wheat pasta inducing a prolonged and high satiety sensation without any swelling of the belly, while still being able to offer the same great taste of durum semolina wheat pasta.
The amount of dietary fibre contained in FiberPasta also includes the resistant starch which acts as soluble fibre. This translates to a slower absorption of carbohydrates and hence a delay and reduction of glycemic peak.
FiberPasta does not contain bran which is the component contained in whole wheat pasta that is responsible for its dark appearance. The bran also contains phytic acid that has been proven to reduce mineral absorption.
Thanks to its dietetic and functional properties, FiberPasta is useful for people suffering from overweight (it contains less calories than regular or whole-wheat pasta), diabetes, cholesterol, constipation.
FiberPasta is also suitable for sport diets, thanks to the fact that there is a slow absorption of carbohydrate allowing the human body to retain energy for all the day, without feeling tired.
